Andy Hutson - The trusty orange thorax pheasant tail

It is perhaps one of the most consistent nymphs out there, I take no credit for the pattern but on this one I’ve used semperfli superfine dubbing in dark brown instead of pheasant tail fibres, for me is easy to tie and extremely tough, but also very quick - all criteria I try to meet when stocking my own boxes. I’ll be using superfine on a few more of these from now on. I’ve also used a rib of 0.1mm copper wire and my favourite 24/0 nano silk and a copper slotted tungsten bead - this is tied on a size 22 jig hook which could prove useful in low water conditions.
