Our machinery is fully computerised managed by our highly trained in house staff. We have invested in many spooling machines with automated tensioners which eanable us to wind 0.1mm wire at 6,000 rpm without breaking the wires.
The computer controls enable us to program the lateral steps for our winding so that the same machines can spool Nano Silk 20D stepping a fraction of a millimeter to 0.5mm wire where the wire moves 0.5mm every revolution at 6,000 rpm.
So What Does This Mean For The Fly Tyer?
Our spooling equipment means that you get what you deserve, quality fly tying materials which are useable from the first to last piece of material on a spool.
What you will NOT get from Semperfli is:
- 'birds nests' where fly tying thread is wrapped underneath itself so that you cannot use all of the spool
- exploding spools which break because they have been put on with the wrong tension.
