Pro team member Nejc Travner has set out on a 2025 mission called Tie Hard!
“Fly tying is more than just a craft—it’s an art form rooted in tradition, skill, and passion”.
This project aims to make one fly every single day of the year, not looking for perfection, but simply enjoying the process and bringing this challenging task to life. Using the best materials available one can get, ensures every fly tied is not only durable but performs at its greatest on the water too.
With help of books, internet and skilled imagination more than 365 patterns were gathered and will be shown during the upcoming year. The chosen flies are more simpler ones, focusing on variety in such manner that an average tyer like myself can make every fly by himself. Lets simply call them “People’s flies” Flies will be tied in different locations, with different styles—some classic, some modern, some seasonal and some theme-related.
To cover full spectre of fly fishing stillwater, whitewater and saltwater flies are planned to be made. With lack of a professional videography in any aspect it is believed that with gained experiences videos will, or at least should, get better during this whole process. On certain days flies will be tied to honor my family, friends, and the legends who paved the way for this tradition. There will also be memorable mentions of people who influenced my perception of angling, tying, and fishing in general, keeping their spirit alive with each fly tied.
What makes this project really special is the received support from all good people in the community, sharing tips, encouragement, and camaraderie. Hopefully you will get some ideas that will make you say - Hey! I can do that too! Inspiring you to try a pattern or two by yourself. I invite you all - Let’s start this journey together, “one thread at a time”.
